1. Elihu spake moreover, and said,
2. Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
3. For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
Iov 21.15What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him? ;
Iov 34.9For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God. ;
4. I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
Iov 34.8Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men. ;
5. Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
Iov 22.12Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! ;
6. If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
Prov 8.36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. ;
Ier 7.19Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? ;
7. If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
Iov 22.2-3Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? ;
Ps 16.2O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; ;

8. Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
9. By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
Ex 2.23And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. ;
Iov 34.28So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted. ;
10. But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
Isa 51.13And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? ;
Ps 42.8Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. ;
Ps 77.6I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. ;
Ps 149.5Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. ;
