1. Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
Isa 48.11

Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. ;

2. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
Ps 42.3-10
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? ;Ps 79.10
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed. ;Ioel 2.17
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? ;

3. But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
1Cron 16.26
For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. ;Ps 135.6
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. ;Dan 4.35
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? ;

4. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Deut 4.28
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. ;Ps 135.15-17
The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. ;Ier 10.3
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. ;

5. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

6. They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

7. They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

8. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

9. O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

10. O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
