1. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
Ps 46.4
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. ;Ps 87.3
Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. ;Isa 2.2-3
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. ;Mic 4.1
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. ;Zah 8.3
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. ;

2. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Ps 50.2
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. ;Ier 3.19
But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me. ;Pl
All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? ;Dan 8.9
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. ;Dan 11.16
But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. ;Ezec 20.6
In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands: ;Isa 14.13
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: ;Mat 5.35
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. ;

3. God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4. For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
2Sam 10.6-19
And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men. ;

5. They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

6. Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
Ex 15.15
Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. ;Osea 13.13
The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children. ;

7. Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
Ier 18.17
I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity. ;Ezec 27.26
Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas. ;

8. As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.
Ps 48.1-2

Ps 26.3
For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. ;Ps 40.10
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. ;

10. According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Deut 28.58
If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; ;Ios 7.9
For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name? ;Ps 113.3
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised. ;Mal 1.11-14
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. ;
