1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Ps 51.9
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. ;Isa 43.25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. ;Isa 44.22
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. ;Col 2.14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; ;

2. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ;1Ioan 1.7-9

3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Ps 32.5
I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. ;Ps 38.18
For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. ;

4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Gen 20.6
And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. ;Gen 39.9
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? ;Lev 5.19
It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD. ;Lev 6.2

5. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. ;Ps 58.8
As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun. ;Ioan 3.6

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. ;

6. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Iov 38.36
Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart? ;

7. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Lev 14.4-49
Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: ;Num 19.18
And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave: ;Evr 9.19
For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, ;Isa 1.18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ;

8. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. ;

9. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. ;Ps 51.1

10. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
