1. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

3. Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
Ps 11.2
For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. ;Ps 57.4
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. ;Ps 58.7
Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces. ;Ier 9.3

4. That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

5. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: ;Ps 10.11
He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. ;Ps 59.7
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? ;

6. They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

7. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. ;

8. So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. ;Prov 18.7

9. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

10. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ;Ps 68.3
But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. ;
