21. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Prov 15.9The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. ;
Mat 5.6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. ;
22. A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
Ecl 9.14There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: ;
23. Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Prov 12.13The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. ;
Prov 13.3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. ;
Prov 18.21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. ;
Iac 3.2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. ;
24. Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
25. The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Prov 13.4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. ;
26. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Ps 37.26He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. ;
Ps 112.9He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. ;
27. The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
Ps 50.9I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. ;
Prov 15.8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. ;
Isa 66.3He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. ;
Ier 6.20To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me. ;
Amos 5.22Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. ;
28. A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
Prov 19.5-9A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. ;
29. A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
30. There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Isa 8.9-10Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. ;
