21. How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
Ier 2.20-21
For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot. ;
22. Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
Ier 6.28-30
They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters. ;Ezec 22.18-19
Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. ;
23. Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
Osea 9.15
All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters. ;Prov 29.24
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. ;Ier 22.17
But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it. ;Ezec 22.12
In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD. ;Osea 4.18
Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye. ;Mic 3.11
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. ;Mic 7.3
That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. ;Ier 5.28
They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. ;Zah 7.10
And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. ;
24. Therefore saith the LORD, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
Deut 28.63
And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. ;Ezec 5.13
Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them. ;
25. And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
Ier 6.29
The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away. ;Ier 9.7
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people? ;Mal 3.3
And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. ;
26. And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
Ier 33.7
And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first. ;Zah 8.3
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. ;
27. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
28. And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
Iov 31.3
Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity? ;Ps 1.6
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. ;Ps 5.6
Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. ;Ps 73.27
For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. ;Ps 92.9
For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. ;Ps 104.35
Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD. ;
29. For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
Isa 57.5
Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks? ;Isa 65.3
A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; ;Isa 66.17
They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD. ;
30. For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
