11. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
Isa 28.7But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. ;
Ecl 7.7Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. ;
12. My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
Ier 2.27Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. ;
Hab 2.19Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it. ;
Isa 44.20He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand? ;
Osea 4.5Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother. ;
13. They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
Isa 1.29For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen. ;
Isa 57.5-7Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks? ;
Ezec 6.13Then shall ye know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols. ;

Amos 7.17Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land. ;
Rom 1.28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; ;
14. I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
Osea 4.1-6Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. ;
15. Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.
Osea 9.15All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters. ;
Osea 12.11Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. ;
Amos 4.4Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years: ;
Amos 5.5But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought. ;
1Imp 12.29And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan. ;
Osea 10.5The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it. ;
Amos 8.14They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again. ;
Tef 1.5And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham; ;
16. For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
Ier 3.6The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. ;
Ier 7.24But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. ;
Ier 8.5Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. ;
Zah 7.11But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. ;
17. Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Mat 15.14Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. ;
18. Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
Mic 3.11The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. ;
Mic 7.3That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. ;
19. The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
Ier 4.11-12At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse, ;
Ier 51.1Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind; ;

Ier 2.26As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. ;
