21. And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
1Imp 8.13I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever. ;
2Cron 6.2But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever. ;
Ps 26.8LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. ;
Ps 132.14This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. ;
SMS 22. And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
Ps 11.4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. ;
Mat 5.34But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: ;
Fapt 7.49Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? ;
SMS 23. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Luc 11.42But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. ;
1Sam 15.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;
Osea 6.6For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. ;
Mic 6.8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? ;
Mat 9.13But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. ;
Mat 12.7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. ;
SMS 24. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
SMS 25. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Marc 7.4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. ;
Luc 11.39And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. ;
SMS 26. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
SMS 27. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Luc 11.44Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. ;
Fapt 23.3Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law? ;
SMS 28. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
SMS 29. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Luc 11.47Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ;
SMS 30. And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
