21. (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

22. Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: ;Mat 11.25
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. ;Fapt 7.48
Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, ;

25. Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: ;Isa 57.16
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. ;Zah 12.1
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. ;

26. And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Deut 32.8
When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. ;

27. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Rom 1.20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: ;

28. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Col 1.17
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. ;Evr 1.3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: ;Tit 1.12
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. ;

29. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
Isa 40.18
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? ;

30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. ;Rom 3.25
