11. (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Rom 4.17
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. ;Rom 8.28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ;

12. It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
Gen 25.23
And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. ;

13. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Deut 21.15
If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated: ;Prov 13.24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. ;Mal 1.2-3
I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, ;Mat 10.37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. ;Luc 14.26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. ;Ioan 12.25
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. ;

14. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
Deut 32.4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. ;2Cron 19.7
Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. ;Iov 8.3
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice? ;Iov 34.10
Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. ;Ps 92.15
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. ;

15. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Ex 33.19
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. ;

16. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Gal 3.8-22
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. ;Ex 9.16
And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. ;

18. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
2Cron 20.6
And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? ;Iov 9.12
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? ;Iov 23.13
But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. ;Dan 4.35
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? ;

20. Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Isa 29.16
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? ;Isa 45.6
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. ;Isa 64.8
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. ;
