1. Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ;Num 9.18

2. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
Ex 16.15-35
And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. ;Neem 9.15-20
And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them. ;Ps 78.24
And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. ;SMS
4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Ex 17.6
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. ;Num 20.11
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. ;Ps 78.15
He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. ;SMS
5. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Num 14.29-35
Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me. ;Num 26.64-65
But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai. ;Ps 106.26
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: ;Evr 3.17

6. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
Num 11.4-34
And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? ;Ps 106.14
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. ;SMS
7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1Cor 10.14
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. ;Ex 32.6
And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. ;SMS
8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1Cor 6.18
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. ;Apoc 2.14

And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. ;Ps 106.29
Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. ;SMS
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
Ex 17.2-7
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? ;Num 21.5
And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. ;Deut 6.16
Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. ;Ps 78.18-56
And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. ;Ps 95.9
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. ;Ps 106.14

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. ;SMS
10. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
Ex 16.2
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: ;Ex 17.2
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? ;Num 14.2-29
And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! ;Num 16.41
But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD. ;Num 14.37
Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD. ;Num 16.49
Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah. ;Ex 12.23
For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. ;2Sam 24.16
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. ;1Cron 21.15
And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. ;SMS
