1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Cor 12.8-28For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; ;
1Cor 14.1Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. ;
Mat 7.22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? ;

3. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

7. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Rom 15.1We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ;
Gal 6.2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. ;
2Tim 2.24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, ;
8. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Cor 8.2And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. ;
10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
