1. Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,
Deut 11.31
For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein. ;Ios 3.16
That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. ;Ios 4.19
And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho. ;Deut 4.38
To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day. ;Deut 7.1
When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; ;Deut 11.23
Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. ;Deut 1.28
Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there. ;SMS
2. A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
Num 13.22-33
And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) ;SMS
3. Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
Deut 31.3
The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said. ;Ios 3.11
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan. ;Deut 4.24
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. ;Evr 12.29
For our God is a consuming fire. ;Deut 7.23
But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. ;Ex 23.31
And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee. ;Deut 7.24
And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them. ;SMS
4. Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
Deut 8.17
And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. ;Rom 11.6-20
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. ;1Cor 4.4-7
For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. ;Gen 15.16
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. ;Lev 18.24-25

5. Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Tit 3.5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; ;Gen 12.7
And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. ;Gen 13.15
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. ;Gen 15.7
And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. ;Gen 17.8

And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; ;SMS
6. Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Deut 9.13
Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: ;Ex 32.9
And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: ;Ex 33.3
Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way. ;Ex 34.9
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O LORD, let my LORD, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance. ;SMS
7. Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.
Ex 14.11
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? ;Ex 16.2
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: ;Ex 17.2
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? ;Num 11.4
And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? ;Num 20.2
And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. ;Num 25.2
And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. ;Deut 31.27
For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? ;SMS
8. Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.
Ex 32.4
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. ;Ps 106.19
They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. ;SMS
9. When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
Ex 24.12-15
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. ;Ex 24.18
And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. ;Ex 34.28
And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. ;SMS
10. And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
Ex 31.18
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. ;Ex 19.17
And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. ;Ex 20.1
And God spake all these words, saying, ;Deut 4.10
Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children. ;Deut 10.4
And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me. ;Deut 18.16
According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. ;SMS
