1. Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;
1Tes 3.5
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. ;Fapt 17.5
But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. ;

2. And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

3. That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. ;1Cor 4.9
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. ;2Tim 3.12
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. ;1Pet 2.21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: ;

4. For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ;

6. But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

7. Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; ;

8. For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
Filip 4.1
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. ;

9. For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
1Tes 1.2
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; ;

10. Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
