1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Ezra 6.10That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. ;
Ier 29.7And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. ;
Rom 13.1Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. ;
3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

10. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
1Pet 3.4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. ;
