1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Ezra 6.10
That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. ;Ier 29.7
And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. ;Rom 13.1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. ;

3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Rom 12.2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ;1Tim 5.4
But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God. ;1Tim 1.1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; ;2Tim 1.9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, ;

4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ;Tit 2.11

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; ;

5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: ;Rom 10.12
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. ;Gal 3.20
Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. ;Evr 8.6
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. ;Evr 9.15
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. ;

6. Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; ;Rom 5.5
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. ;Gal 4.4
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, ;Efes 1.9
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: ;Efes 3.5
Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; ;Tit 1.3
But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; ;

7. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
Efes 3.7-8
Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. ;2Tim 1.11

To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ;

8. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Mal 1.11
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. ;Ioan 4.21

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. ;Isa 1.15

9. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Pet 3.3
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; ;

10. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
1Pet 3.4
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. ;
