21. By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
Gen 48.5-20
And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. ;Gen 47.31
And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head. ;
22. By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
Gen 50.24-25
And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. ;Ex 13.19
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. ;
23. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
Ex 2.2
And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. ;Fapt 7.20
In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: ;Ex 1.16-22
And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. ;
24. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Ex 2.10-11
And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. ;
25. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Ps 84.10
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. ;
26. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
Evr 13.13
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. ;Evr 10.35
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. ;
27. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Ex 10.28-29
And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die. ;Ex 12.37
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. ;Ex 13.17-18
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: ;Evr 11.13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. ;
28. Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
Ex 12.21
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. ;
29. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
Ex 14.22-29
And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. ;
30. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Ios 6.20
So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. ;
