1. Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
Isa 51.4
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people. ;SMS

2. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
Ps 49.4
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. ;Mat 13.35
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. ;SMS

3. Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
Ps 44.1
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. ;SMS

4. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
Deut 4.9
Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; ;Deut 6.7
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ;Ioel 1.3
Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. ;Ex 12.26-27
And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? ;Ex 13.8-14

5. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. ;Deut 4.9

7. That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

8. And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people. ;Deut 31.27
