1. The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
SMS 2. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
Prov 16.2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. ;
Prov 24.12If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? ;
Luc 16.15And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. ;
SMS 3. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
1Sam 15.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;
Ps 50.8I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. ;
Prov 15.8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. ;
Isa 1.11To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. ;

SMS 4. An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

SMS 6. The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

Prov 13.11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. ;
Prov 20.21An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed. ;
2Pet 2.3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. ;
SMS 7. The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

SMS 10. The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
