1. Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Ex 3.5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. ;
Isa 1.12When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? ;
1Sam 15.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;
Ps 50.8I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. ;
Prov 15.8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. ;

Osea 6.6For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. ;
2. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Prov 10.19In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. ;
Mat 6.7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. ;
3. For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
Prov 10.19In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. ;
4. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
Num 30.2If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. ;
Deut 23.21-23When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. ;
Ps 50.14Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: ;

5. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
Prov 20.25It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. ;
Fapt 5.4Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. ;
6. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

7. For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
Ecl 12.13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. ;
8. If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

9. Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.
10. He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
