1. Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.
Gen 46.2
And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. ;Ex 6.14
These be the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben. ;

2. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3. Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4. Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5. And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.
Gen 46.26-27
All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six; ;Ex 1.20
Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. ;Deut 10.22
Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude. ;

6. And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

7. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
Gen 46.3
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: ;Deut 26.5
And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous: ;Ps 105.24
And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies. ;Fapt 7.17
But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, ;

8. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph. ;

9. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies. ;

10. Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live. ;
