1. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Gen 9.21

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? ;Isa 28.7
But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. ;Osea 4.11
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart. ;SMS

2. The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
Prov 16.14
The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. ;Prov 19.12
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. ;Prov 8.36
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. ;SMS

3. It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
Prov 17.14
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. ;SMS

4. The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. ;Prov 19.24
A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. ;Prov 19.15
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. ;SMS

5. Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
Prov 18.4
The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. ;SMS

6. Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
Prov 25.14
Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. ;Mat 6.2
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. ;Luc 18.11

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. ;Luc 18.8
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? ;SMS

7. The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
2Cor 1.12
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. ;Ps 37.26
He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. ;Ps 112.2
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. ;SMS

8. A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
Prov 20.26
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them. ;SMS

9. Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
1Imp 8.46
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; ;2Cron 6.36
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near; ;Iov 14.4
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. ;Ps 51.5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. ;Ecl 7.20

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ;SMS

10. Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
Deut 25.13
Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. ;Prov 20.23
Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. ;Prov 11.1
A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight. ;Prov 16.11
A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work. ;Mic 6.10-11
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? ;SMS
