1. Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
Ps 144.5
Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. ;Jud 5.5
The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel. ;Mic 1.4
And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. ;SMS

2. As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

3. When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. ;Jud 5.4-5
LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. ;Ps 68.8
The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. ;Hab 3.3-6
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. ;SMS

4. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Ps 31.19
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! ;1Cor 2.9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. ;SMS

5. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. ;Isa 26.8
Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. ;Mal 3.6
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. ;SMS

6. But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: ;Ps 90.5-6
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. ;SMS

7. And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Osea 7.7
They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me. ;SMS

8. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Isa 63.16
Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. ;Isa 29.16
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? ;Isa 45.9
Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? ;Ier 18.6
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. ;Rom 9.20-21
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? ;Efes 2.10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. ;SMS

9. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
Ps 74.1-2
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? ;Ps 79.8
O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low. ;Ps 79.13
So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations. ;SMS

10. Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
Ps 79.1
O god, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps. ;SMS
