1. Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.
Isa 21.9
And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. ;Ier 50.2
Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. ;Ier 51.44
And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. ;Ier 10.5
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. ;

2. They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.
Ier 48.7
For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together. ;

3. Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
Ex 17.4
And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. ;Deut 1.31
And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. ;Deut 32.11
As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: ;Ps 71.6
By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. ;Isa 63.9
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. ;

4. And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Ps 102.27
But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. ;Mal 3.6
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. ;Ps 48.14
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. ;Ps 71.18
Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. ;

5. To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
Isa 40.18-25
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? ;

6. They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
Isa 40.19
The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. ;Isa 41.6
They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. ;Isa 44.12-19
The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. ;Ier 10.3
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. ;

7. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
Ier 10.5
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. ;Isa 45.20
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. ;

8. Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Isa 44.19
And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? ;Isa 47.4
As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. ;

9. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Deut 32.7
Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. ;Isa 45.5-21
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: ;

10. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Isa 45.21
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. ;Ps 33.11
The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. ;Prov 19.21
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. ;Prov 21.30
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. ;Fapt 5.39
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. ;Evr 6.17
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: ;
