1. Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.
Isa 21.9And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. ;
Ier 50.2Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. ;
Ier 51.44And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. ;
Ier 10.5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. ;
2. They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.
Ier 48.7For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together. ;
3. Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
Ex 17.4And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. ;

Ps 102.27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. ;

Ps 48.14For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. ;

5. To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
Isa 40.18-25To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? ;
6. They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
Isa 40.19The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. ;
Isa 41.6They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. ;
Isa 44.12-19The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. ;
Ier 10.3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. ;
7. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.

Isa 45.20Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. ;
8. Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Isa 44.19And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? ;
Isa 47.4As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. ;
9. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Deut 32.7Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. ;
Isa 45.5-21I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: ;
10. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Isa 45.21Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. ;
Ps 33.11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. ;
Prov 19.21There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. ;
Prov 21.30There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. ;
