1. Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Deut 32.39See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. ;
1Sam 2.6The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. ;
Iov 5.18For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. ;
Osea 5.14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him. ;
Ier 30.17For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. ;
2. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Isa 54.13And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. ;
2Sam 23.4And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. ;
Ps 72.6He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. ;
Iov 29.23And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. ;
4. O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
Osea 11.8How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. ;
Osea 13.3Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. ;
5. Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
Ier 1.10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. ;
Ier 5.14Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. ;
Ier 23.29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? ;
Evr 4.12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ;
6. For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
1Sam 15.22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ;
Ecl 5.1Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. ;
Mic 6.8He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? ;
Mat 9.13But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. ;
Mat 12.7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. ;
Ps 50.8-9I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. ;
Prov 21.3To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. ;
Isa 1.11To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. ;
Ier 22.16He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD. ;
Ioan 17.3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. ;
7. But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
Osea 8.1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law. ;
Osea 5.7They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions. ;
8. Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
Osea 12.11Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. ;
9. And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
Ier 11.9And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. ;
Ezec 22.25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. ;
Osea 5.1-2Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor. ;
10. I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
Ier 5.30A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; ;
Osea 4.12-17My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God. ;
