1. Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
1Tim 1.2
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. ;2Tim 1.2
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. ;Efes 6.10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. ;

2. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2Tim 1.13
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ;2Tim 3.10-14
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, ;1Tim 1.18
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; ;1Tim 3.2
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; ;Tit 1.9
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. ;

3. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2Tim 1.8
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; ;2Tim 4.5
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. ;1Tim 1.18
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; ;

4. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
1Cor 9.25
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. ;

5. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

7. Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Fapt 2.30
Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; ;Fapt 13.23
Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: ;Rom 1.3-4
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; ;1Cor 15.1-20

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. ;

9. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. ;Efes 3.1

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. ;Col 4.3-18
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: ;Fapt 28.31
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. ;Efes 6.19-20
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ;Filip 1.13-14
So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; ;

10. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: ;2Cor 1.6
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. ;
