1. Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Ioan 7.35
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? ;Fapt 2.5-10

2. Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Efes 1.4
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: ;1Pet 2.9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; ;Rom 8.29
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ;Rom 11.2

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ;Evr 10.22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. ;Evr 12.24
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel. ;Rom 1.7
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ;2Pet 1.2
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, ;

3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; ;Efes 1.3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: ;Tit 3.5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; ;Ioan 3.3-5
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ;Iac 1.18
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. ;1Cor 15.20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. ;1Tes 4.14
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. ;1Pet 3.21
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: ;

4. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. ;Col 1.5
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; ;2Tim 4.8
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. ;

5. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. ;

6. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
Mat 5.12
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. ;Rom 12.12
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; ;2Cor 6.10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. ;1Pet 4.13
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. ;2Cor 4.17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; ;1Pet 5.10
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. ;

7. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; ;Iac 1.3-12
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. ;1Pet 4.12
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: ;Iov 23.10
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. ;Ps 66.10
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. ;Prov 17.3
The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts. ;Isa 48.10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. ;Zah 13.9
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. ;1Cor 3.13
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. ;Rom 2.7-10
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: ;1Cor 4.5
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. ;2Tes 1.7-12
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, ;

8. Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
1Ioan 4.20
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? ;Ioan 20.29
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. ;2Cor 5.7
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) ;Evr 11.1-27
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ;

9. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Rom 6.22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. ;

10. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Gen 49.10
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. ;Dan 2.44
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. ;Hag 2.7

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: ;
